After arriving in England, she
continued training with top teachers and her mentors include the dance
performer Khaled Mahmoud,
and Anne White of Planet Egypt.
Nadine’s professional career began
in Arab restaurants in Oxford, Reading and London. She especially
enjoys performing to live Egyptian music and works with the master
percussionist Farouk El Safi. Together they have performed at a range
of different showcases and workshops and can currently be seen at
Reading’s La Fontana restaurant and others in UK.
Weekly classes are taught at the
Rivermead Leisure Centre, Reading where as well as a general Bellydance
class; Nadine offers workout sessions with steps. Classes focus on
technique, posture and correct Arabic mannerisms and gestures. Nadine
is renowned for her authentic portrayal of Egyptian dance and strives
to help students understand rhythm, cultural context and
interpretation. Although many Arab families discourage their daughters
from dancing, Nadine believes it was her destiny and is honoured to
share her love of Arab culture and dance with a wider audience.
